Our activities around Faith in the SDGs at COP26 took place across the 2 weeks of the summit, with a series of public and private meetings. The activities were held in partnership with UKIFC, FaithInvest, Wahed Invest, Gatehouse Bank and the Church of Scotland.
The private meetings took place at Ross Priory, on the beautiful banks of Loch Lomond, near Glasgow.



We were delighted to host a session of the Islamic Social Finance Dialogue, a series organised by the Islamic Development Bank and UN-ESCWA. Watch now.
The session featured contributions from speakers including Dr Rola Dashti, Executive Secretary of UN-ESCWA and Dr Ahmed Al-Meraikhi, Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General.




The day’s activities also saw the launch of a High-Level Working Group on Green Sukuk, supported by the UK Treasury, London Stock Exchange and Indonesian Ministry of Finance. Read more.

The day concluded with a meeting of the UKIFC’s Islamic Finance and the SDGs Taskforce.


Gatehouse Bank CEO Charles Haresnape was among the speakers at the Taskforce meeting.



The public Faith in the SDGs mini-summit took place at the University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School.


Lord Wallace, Moderator of the Church of Scotland, opened the summit with a keynote speech on the responsibilities of faith groups. Watch the summit now.



Lord Alderdice, Director of the Centre for the Resolution of Intractable Conflict at the University of Oxford and Umer Suleman, General Manager of Wahed UK sat down for a fireside chat with Lorna Gold of FaithInvest.





Graham Burnside, GEFI, moderated a panel with Azman Mokhtar, INCEIF, Lorna Gold FaithInvest, Eric Sukumaran, OxFAIF, and Geraldine Burnett, Gatehouse Bank, examining some of the progress made around the world on faith in finance.
