With global assets totalling $30.7 trillion sustainable investing has become a major force across financial markets. Following the recent publication of “From Universal Rights to Global Goals” Andrew Cave (Baillie Gifford) shared their insights on the 75-year backstory to responsible investment and shared views on what trends he expects in 2020 and beyond.
Earlier this year 130 banks with $47tn in assets signed up to the Principles for Responsible Banking thereby committing to align business strategies with the global goals and the Paris Agreement and to align banking practices to create shared prosperity. Thom Kenrick (RBS) discussed the banking sector’s response to the financial crisis and how he sees the sector transition towards more sustainable models.
